Taylor Swift canceled her shows in Austria earlier this year due to terrorist threats. Vienna‘s economy lost over $1 billion from that. Funny you mention Pink as well— her family had their bicycles stolen while on tour here in Austria. Neither of them are worrying about student loans, AI, or cable bills for sure.
The student loan debt discussion was interesting. I strongly believe in the value of a basic college education, but, beyond that, attention must be paid to the ROI to some degree - too many kids are being shackled with needless student loan debt.
The predatory lenders should be ashamed of themselves, to put it nicely. They trick unsuspecting students. Yeah, I guess personal responsibility, but they're still crooks in my book.
Yeah, I blame the government for allowing it to happen. Humans, and capitalism, have shown they will take advantage of anyone in order to make a buck.
Like we talked about in the pod, stuff like that didn’t used to be legal. Pretty sure my immigrant relatives would’ve struggled in today’s world as well.

Wow, I hadn’t heard of either of those stories.

Great topics this week. I can’t even think about how debilitating student loan debt is for this generation
Life is hard enough without that weighing you down

Thanks for listening!
Totally, mine too. Technically, it's not capitalism. It's corporations taking advantage of publicly-funded loans -- the worst of both worlds.
